BALANGA City, Bataan: From two towns last week, the African swine fever (ASF) has now affected 4 out of 11 towns and a city in Bataan province, municipal mayors confirmed in a meeting here on Tuesday. The towns of Samal and Orani reported positive cases of the virus after Dinalupihan town and Hermosa town. ASF was reported in five barangay (villages) in Dinalupihan, two in Hermosa, and one each in Orani and Samal. Mayor Maria Angela Garcia of Dinalupihan town, Mayor Jopet Inton of Hermosa and Mayor Efren Pascual Jr. of Orani said that they were following guidelines and doing necessary measures to contain the virus. Inton said about 500 pigs were scheduled to be culled in Hermosa.Garcia said she was still gathering data on the number of pigs culled and to be culled in Dinalupihan.
