PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Archie Gamboa ordered the dismissal of three of his officials in Central Visayas for playing golf on weekdays.They are Col. Dennis Artil, the regional chief comptroller; Lt. Col. Richard Bad-Ang, chief of the finance service; and Lt. Col. Glenn Mayam, director of the regional PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).According to Gamboa, these officials ignored his order not to play golf during office hours. They allegedly played every Tuesday and Thursday.'Under due process they will be investigated, dalawa sana for promotion but might affect yung promotion [They are under due process and they will be investigated, two were up for promotion but their violation could affect it],' Gamboa told the reporters in a press briefing on Thursday.The three police officials were reassigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) at the PNP national headquarters while investigation was ongoing.Gamboa said that the three were facing flagrant violation of a specific directive, particularly an act that constituted grave misconduct.Since Gamboa became the officer-in-charge of the PNP, he has prohibited police officials from playing golf during weekdays so that they could focus on their jobs and duties.
