Bohol taps PhilRice to help farmers increase yield

To assist the estimated 240,000 rice farmers in Bohol amid the entry of less costly imported rice, the provincial government led by Gov. Arthur Yap, tapped Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rice Research Institute (DA-PhilRice) in providing agricultural technologies to help increase yield.

In their recent visit at DA-PhilRice Central Experiment Station in Nueva Ecija, the local government unit purchased 200 sets of the Minus One Element Technique (MOET) kit following expert’s advice. Rice specialists suggested the use of MOET to assess soil deficiency and get fertilizer recommendation.
