LIMAY, Bataan: Workers at the Petron Bataan Refinery (PBR) here cut short their strike on the second day, Sunday, upon order of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) and said they were willing to return to work, but the oil plant on Monday suspended 24 officers of the striking union.
“Nakakalungkot isipin, pero kailangan sundin. Dumating na po ang assumption order mula sa office ng DoLE kung saan may return-to-work order na para sa lahat ng empleyado (It’s sad, but the order has to be followed. The assumption order from DoLE has arrived where there is an order to all employees to return to work),” Gerald Medina, president of the Bataan Refiners Union of the Philippines (BRUP), said in a statement on Sunday.
