Education has biggest slice of 2020 budget pie

As has been the tradition, education is getting the biggest slice of the proposed 2020 national budget.

Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara said Thursday that in the reconciled version of the P4.1-trillion budget that was approved by Congress, P17.1 billion was earmarked for the Department of Education (DepEd), the State Universities and Colleges (SUC), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to fund various programs.
