THE government and National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) peace panels have agreed to recommend a nationwide ceasefire from Dec. 23, 2019 to Jan. 7, 2020, according to a joint statement signed by their representatives.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello 3rd and Hernani Braganza of the Philippine government peace panel and Luis Jalandoni and Fidel Agcaoili of the NDFP panel will relay the recommendation to their respective heads for the issuance of 'corresponding ceasefire orders.'
