ABS-CBN files $4-M copyright suit in US

LOPEZ-LED media giant ABS-CBN has intensified its fight against copyright infringement, slapping a Texas resident and 1700 Cuts Technology with a $4-million lawsuit.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said it filed a complaint in a United States Federal Court in the Southern District of Texas against Anthony Brown and 1700 Cuts Technology for allegedly selling “modified illegal” set-top boxes, allowing buyers to access the network’s television shows “without paying the appropriate fees for such services.”
