A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Samar early Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs spotted the epicenter of the quake at 31 kilometers southwest of Guiuan, eastern Samar at 12:39 a.m.
