MAYOR Noel Rosal of the City of Legazpi approved the development of sustainable communities in the towns of Homapon and Estanza in Legazpi City. The development, to be undertaken by Imperial Homes Corporation, will start in the first quarter of 2020 and will include over 1000 affordable homes all equipped with solar panels and made of Connovate ultra high-performance concrete panels, a construction innovation brought to the Philippines from Denmark. These Connovate homes are made with 85 percent less cement and so has lower carbon emissions yet are 20 times stronger than homes built from hollow blocks. These makes them earthquake-and-typhoon resistant as well as fire resistant. It is also molds free. They are rated to last for 100 years.
