Military officers based in Negros Occidental have maintained that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was not targeting progressive organizations in the Visayas province.

One of them, Lt. Col. Colonel Emelito Thaddeus Logan, commander of the Philippine Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion, over the weekend pointed out that most, if not all the 57 people nabbed in simultaneous raids in Bacolod and Escalante cities last week were New People’s Army (NPA) rebels.
