THE first trading day of October ended in the red territory as slower bank-lending growth (M3) and a weak peso outlook dampened market sentiment.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped by 0.50 percent or 39.21 points to end at 7,739.86, while the wider All Shares dipped 0.55 percent or 25.83 points to finish at 4,686.04.
