Pagasa: Slow moving ‘Nimfa’ not expected to make landfall but to enhance southwest monsoon

TROPICAL depression 'Nimfa' continued to move slowly toward Batanes on Wednesday and while it was not expected to make landfall, it would enhance the southwest monsoon over parts of Luzon and the Visayas, the state-run weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 4 p.m. bulletin that Nimfa was located 745 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center.
