The SL-8H developed by SL Agritech Corp. (SLAC) may be the highest-yielding hybrid rice variety in the country today, capable of yielding 15.45 metric tons per hectare (MT/ha) of palay (unmilled rice) per cropping according to 50-year old farmer Randy Martin of Lubao, Pampanga.
The average palay yield in the country is 4 MT/ha.
