Bill Gates is well-known as the co-founder of Microsoft and one of the wealthiest men in the world with net worth estimated at more than $100 billion. He went to study at Harvard University but dropped out to set up one of the most commercially successful companies of the 20th century. Harvard awarded Gates an honorary doctorate in 2007, making him officially an alumnus 30 years after dropping out.
