MESSAGE

Independence Day is one when all of India reflects on the ideals that imbued her struggle for freedom - truth and non-violence. The newly independent nation adopted as its emblem the ancient Ashokan pillar that is over 2200 years old with the motto below it - ‘truth alone triumphs’. Emperor Ashoka was himself a champion of non-violence and instrumental in spreading Buddhism throughout the world. This is also the day when we remember the sacrifices of countless men and women in the quest for freedom. And most of all we remember Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, whose 150”’ birth anniversary we are celebrating this year.
