Police anti-kidnapping group tests ‘negative’ for drug use

MEMBERS of the Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) tested negative for illegal drugs after a random testing as part of the PNP’s “internal cleansing” program, a spokesman for the group said on Saturday.

The random drug test, which Police Colonel Jonnel Estomo, PNP-AKG director, issued on his first day of service, is a way to ensure that every personnel under his command are “well disciplined”and for them to earn the trust and confidence of the public, said Police Lieutenant Colonel Elmer R. Cereno, public information officer (PIO).
