15 rescued after motorboat capsized in Leyte

FIFTEEN persons were rescued, of which one was dead, after a “colorum” motorboat marked as “Ruel” capsized on Monday off Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte due to the southwest monsoon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday. Of the 15 persons rescued, 13 were passengers, one was crew member and another an operator. Passenger Adelaida Araneta Palero was declared dead on arrival at the Rural Health Unit in the Limawasa Island. The NDRRMC said that the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police and Limawasa Emergency Rescue Team responded to the incident.
