A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted in the area of Eastern Samar early Friday, the state-run weather bureau said.

The LPA was estimated at 960 kilometers east of Guiuan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
