In celebration of the tercentenary death of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the universal patron saint of teachers and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the sacred relic of the saint began its new 300-day pilgrimage.
The reliquary of St. La Salle first visited the Philippines in June 2011 during the commemoration of the Centenary of the Lasallian presence in the Philippines. It was given as a gift from then Brother Superior Álvaro Rodríguez Echeverria, FSC, of the Generalate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Rome, Italy, where it was enshrined at the Sanctuary of St. John Baptist de La Salle.
