East-West Seed (EWS) founder Simon Groot has been awarded the 2019 World Food Prize Laureate for his transformative role in improving the lives of small farmer communities in the Philippines and in more than 60 tropical countries.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and president of the World Food Prize Foundation Kenneth Quinn recently announced Groot’s getting the prestigious award from Washington D.C.
