After setting aside her thriving theater career in 2015, Filipino-Canadian singer-actress Kayla Rivera spent four years in her hometown of Calgary to finish school. Today, every bit as talented as before, she is back in Manila, diploma in hand, eager to return to the stage.
Thankfully for Rivera, she had no need to wait long for work to come her way what with her “home” in Philippine theater — Atlantis Theatrical Group — only too happy to cast her in the coveted title role of the Tony- Grammy and Olivier-award winning “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.”
