I already had a piece prepared for this issue, but reading up on yesterday’s contents of The Manila Times, I stumbled upon this title: “June 12 Independence Day declaration is ‘fake news’.” I thought that “fake news” claim was novel, reason enough for me to read. How had the nation’s declaration of independence ever been “fake news”?
