IT’s all systems go for today’s national and local elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said, with contingency measures in place to ensure that the voting, counting and proclamation of winners proceed smoothly.
The biggest concern, as far as poll officials are concerned, is vote-buying and vote-selling given increased complaints and reports — the latest involving the politically-charged Makati mayoral race — and difficulties in prosecuting such cases.
