Up until 2016 when he lost his bid to the Senate, actor-turned-politician Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso easily won three terms as Manila City councilor and another three, the next step up as vice mayor.
Those who know the chronology of this purebred Manileño’s rise from showbiz to government will also recall that the former “That’s Entertainment” star’s 18 years of service in the city hall were uninterrupted until he gave in to former president Joseph “Erap” Estrada’s request to allow him to serve as mayor in his place of birth before he retires. Moreno forewent plans to run as mayor that year in 2013, and agreed to remain No. 2 to showbiz’ most successful crossover to politics.
