A Marcos-era pardon granted to Quezon City mayoral bet Vincent “Bingbong” Crisologo is fake, a handwriting expert claimed in the wake of a disqualification case filed against him on Monday.
Crisologo, the son of a former Ilocos Sur congressman, was convicted in 1970 for burning Barangay Ora Centro and Ora Este in Bantay, Ilocos Sur. Sentenced to double life imprisonment, he was pardoned by then-President Ferdinand Marcos in 1980 and went on to become a preacher and politician.
