SHARES of Cemex Holdings Philippines Corp. increased by 6 percent week-on-week, buoyed by its improved financial performance in the first three months of the year.
The listed cement manufacturer’s stock price finished Friday at P2 each — a 6.38-percent jump from the P1.88 close on April 17 — after it reported that its net income in the first quarter soared by 137 percent to P172 million from P73 million in the same period last year on the back of lower foreign-exchange (forex) losses and higher operating gains.
