New OFW movie veers away from sad tales, focuses on success

Most of the memorable movies made about overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are those centered on tragedy and emotionally-charged stories. Remember “The Flor Contemplacion Story” in 1995, “The Sarah Balabagan Story” (1997), “Anak” (2000) and all the way to “Maid in London” in 2018.

By mid-year, another film about OFWs will hit the big screen but this time, it will be a feel-good movie showing the successful side of the Filipino diaspora.
