In 2016, BMI Research report named Pakistan as one of the 10 emerging economies with a particular focus on its manufacturing hub. The economy of Pakistan is currently the 23rd largest in the world in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), and 38th largest in terms of nominal gross domestic product.
Pakistan has a population of over 207 million (the world’s 6th largest), giving it a nominal growth domestic product (GDP) per capita of $1,641. In 2018, Pakistan’s economy grew by 5.2 percent and its GDP in terms of purchasing power parity crossed $1 trillion.
