PERSONS with disability (PWDs) are now automatically covered by the National Health Insurance Program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), according to La Union Second District Representative Sandra Eriguel.
This became possible after President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law on February 22, Republic Act No. 11228 which provides mandatory PhilHealth coverage for all PWDs. The new law amended R.A. 7277 or the Magna Carta for Persons with Disability.
