MISAMIS ORIENTAL: Bread manufacturer Gardenia Bakeries Philippines Inc. inaugurated on Thursday its new bread plant in the Phividec Industrial Estate in Misamis Oriental province to strengthen its market in Mindanao. The P1-billion, 2.4-hectare facility, which Gardenia Philippines President Simplicio Umali Jr. described as the most advanced bread-manufacturing plant in the region, can produce 130,000 loaves and buns daily. Its baking process is fully automated, with its equipment sourced from Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and Japan. “To ensure the high quality, freshness and great taste of Gardenia products, we use flour made from US wheat, milled to Gardenia’s high quality specifications, milk from Australia or the US, and other imported premium ingredients,” Umali said. The facility is the company’s fifth built.
