Top NPA leader, 3 others killed in Misamis Oriental encounter

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A top commander of the New People’s Army (NPA) and three others were killed in a firefight with state forces in the hinterlands of Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, the military reported on Monday.

Lt. Col. Roy Derilo, commander of the army’s 58^th Infantry Battalion, identified the rebel commander as Almonte Lindayao, 36, of Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
