TARLAC: The provincial government had set the six-day celebration of the 3rd Kanlungan ng Lahi (Kanlahi) Festival in line with Tarlac’s 146th founding anniversary, catapulted to give premium on the culture, tradition and people of the province. Lineup of activities and similarly significant highlights of the festival include the March 4 opening day, with a special feature in a TV program and a Mass followed by a media conference, bonsai exhibit, 3D chalk art festival, food festival and trade fair, Saya-Agri fair, opening of an out-patient department at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Night Bike Ride and a variety show. On March 7, activities include Zumba, palaro ng lahi and Binibining Kanlahi; while on the next day, featured events would be a three-point shootout, Mobile Legends tournament, cheer dance competition, and music and musical pyro fests. Concluding day of the celebration will highlight fun run, continuation of mobile legends tournament, Gov. Susan Yap car and motor show, and XCO bike and motocross race. The province of Tarlac was formed on May 28, 1873 from a mixture of municipalities of Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Pangasinan.
