Italian govt gives P12M to displaced Marawi folk

COTABATO CITY: The government of Italy had allotted $240,000 (more than P12 million) as a contribution to help 6,500 displaced people in Marawi City rebuild their livelihoods and gain access to nutritious food, according to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Tuesday.

Stephen Gluning, WFP representative and country director, said the Italian government’s contribution to the program would support families over three months, providing them with cash assistance in exchange for their participation in livelihood projects focused on fisheries and farming.
