The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored off Mindanao might develop into a tropical depression as it continues to approach the country, the state-run weather bureau said on Friday.
In its 11 a.m. weather update on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last seen 1,390 kilometers (kms) east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
