FOR the first time in almost a decade, the Bureau of Customs (BoC) surpassed its annual revenue collection target for 2018 by P661 million, at P585.542 billion from 2017’s P584.881 billion.
Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero narrowly beat the odds after two months of successive revenue shortfalls amounting to more than P7 billion since taking over the top customs post in September.
