The new look Gilas Pilipinas National Men’s Team will have its hands full this week as it battles tough Kazakhstan on November 30 (730pm Mall of Asia Arena) and powerhouse Iran on December 3 (730pm Mall of Asia Arena) in the fifth window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. The Philippines (5-3) is currently at third spot in Group F behind Australia (7-1) and Iran (6-2). In Group E, the leading three teams are New Zealand, Lebanon and Korea. The top three teams per group will qualify for the 2019 World Cup in China. Japan is right behind the Philippines with a 4-4 card but is favored to beat Qatar on November 30 and Kazakhstan on December 3. This puts a lot of pressure on Gilas to win in their next two assignments here in Manila in order to solidify the country’s hold of third place in Group F.
