All roads lead to the Mall of Asia Arena tomorrow in anticipation of the rip-roaring National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship between two-time defensing champions San Beda University (SBU) Red Lions and arch nemesis Lyceum of the Philippines (LPU) Pirates. For the second straight year, SBU and LPU are colliding for the prestigious crown of the country’s oldest cage league. The two top squads split their games this 94th NCAA Season, both with a winning margin of seven points. Round 1 belonged to the Pirates, 73-66, in a game that was close all throughout until last year’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) CJ Perez connected on a triple with under one minute left in the match. In the second round, the Lions got back at the Pirates, 75-68, in a dominant performance that saw their lead climb up to 20 before a late strong rally threatened to reverse the game’s outcome.
