Duterte names Intelligence chief Army commanding general, says top aide

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte picked Maj. Gen. Macairog Alberto, commander of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), as the next commanding general of the Philippine Army, his top aide said on Thursday.

In a text message, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go told The Manila Times that Duterte, in a letter released on Thursday, informed Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana about Alberto's new appointment.
