UPDATE: La Union mayor, 2 others killed in ambush

THE mayor of a town in La Union and two others were ambushed and killed late Monday, police said.

The fatalities were identified as Mayor Alexander Buquing of Supiden; Boni Depdepen, his driver; and PO2 Rolando Juanbe, his security escort. The mayor’s wife and Vice Mayor Joy Buquing was wounded in the incident that happened along the Bangar-Castro Road.
