DAVAO CITY: Government troops belonging to 28th Infantry Battalion (28th IB) on Friday rescued a wounded member of the communist New People’s Army (NPA), the Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) reported on Saturday.

Jason Languhan, of Santa Cruz town in Davao del Sur province, was rescued around 9 a.m. on September 14, a day after two armed clashes ensued between the 28th IB and the communist rebels in Sitio Sigang, Barangay Maragtas, Lupon, Davao Oriental.
