Popular Japanese idol group AKB48 now has “sisters” in the Philippines with the introduction of their equally fun and quirky counterpart MNL48.

Officially launching their debut single at a big media event in Movie Stars Cafe, Quezon City, MNL48 sang the Filipino version of the Japanese pop group’s signature hit, “Aitakatta! - Gustong Makita.” The original ditty was that which topped the Japanese Oricon Music Charts in 2006.
