Pro-Duterte group forms new political party

A pro-administration group has formed a new political party to boost support for President Rodrigo Duterte and replace what it described as “same old corrupt politicians” in the government.

Former Education Undersecretary Antonio “Butch” Valdez, who heads the newly formed Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP), told The Manila Times that the party would field its own candidates in the 2019 elections with the intention to “implement programs that directly benefit the Filipino people.”
