V. Luna mess exposes weak military accountability

OFFICIALS of the Health Service Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and V. Luna Medical Center are the latest to fall in the anti-corruption crackdown of the Duterte administration.

The unceremonious sacking of 22 military officials, including a brigadier general, over alleged corruption in hospital deals, came on the heels of the dismissal of the entire board of the state-run Nayong Pilipino Foundation for entering into a long-term casino-resort development with a Chinese company at the Manila Bay reclamation area.
