ENVIRONMENT Secretary Roy Cimatu suspended quarrying operations in Rizal, saying it could be the cause of floods in the region and in Metro Manila.

Cimatu ordered the suspension particularly in San Mateo and Rodriguez following a meeting with Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go who on Monday visited Marikina, one of the hard-hit areas.
