The Foundation for Rural Enterprise and Ecology Development of Mindanao Inc. (Freedom) is eyeing the export market for its nipa palm sugar, which will benefit smallholders taking part in the project producing the commodity.
Antonio Peralta, executive director of Freedom, said his group is awaiting product certification from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a prerequisite of prospective buyers in South Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, Middle East, and United States.
