Filipinos are missing opportunities in the growing tourism industry because they lack the skill to speak foreign languages especially Chinese, according to a Department of Tourism (DoT) official.
The ability to speak the Chinese language is becoming a must for Filipinos so they can service the increasing number of Chinese tourists, said Benjamin F. Santiago, DoT Regional Office V director.
