LPA in PH unlikely to become a storm; ‘habagat’ brings rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas—Pagasa

THE low pressure area (LPA), which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is unlikely to develop into a storm while the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to bring rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas, the state-run weather bureau said on Sunday.

The LPA was 1,335 kilometers (km) east of Aparri, Cagayan and will not affect any portion of the country, weather specialist Meno Mendoza of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
