MAYOR John Rey Tiangco and officials of the Navotas Schools Division Office, this week launched Oplan Kalusugan sa Department of Education (OK sa DepEd). It focuses on major school health programs including the School-Based Feeding Program, National Drug Education Program, Adolescent Reproductive Health Education, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools, and medical, dental, and nursing services. “Every year, the city government endeavors to improve the health services we provide through our health centers and the Navotas City Hospital. However, having such facilities and infrastructure does not mean we can be careless with our health,” Tiangco said in his speech. He also mentioned the plan to close half of R10 Bridge every Sunday to provide a safe space for Navoteños to jog or bike or for families to bond. Last year, the city government identified the Navotas Centennial Park as its family zone. The park is adjacent to R10 Bridge and serves as a venue for free zumba sessions every Saturday and Sunday.
