Ex-lawmaker faces graft raps over P10-M ‘pork’

GOVERNMENT prosecutors charged a former lawmaker and six others have with two counts of graft over the alleged misuse of P10 million of her discretionary Priority Development Assistance Fund or “pork barrel” in May and June 2009.

In an 18-page charge sheet, the Office of the Ombudsman accused Mitzi Cajayon-Uy of conspiring with former Social Welfare secretary Esperanza Cabral, employees Mateo Montaño, Vilma Cabrera, Pacita Marino, Leonina Hayahay and Cenon Mayor of Kaloocan Assistance Council, Inc.’s (KACI) in granting P10 million of her PDAF allocation to non-existent projects supposedly to be implemented by KACI.
