MARAWI CITY: Police Regional Office in the Autonomous Region of Muslim nine (PRO-ARMM) arrested several high value targets (HVT) and wanted persons in a region-wide police crackdown beginning June 30. Chief Supt. Graciano Jaylo Mijares, PRO-ARMM regional director, confirmed the arrest of HVT Adzhar Macrohon, 33, chairman of Barangay Bato, Lamitan City along with five most wanted drug dealers in Basilan. Confiscated from the suspects were six heat sealed sachets of shabu, weighing 25 grams, of about P118,000 street value, as well as a caliber.45 pistol with loaded magazine clips, a caliber 5.56 firearm with magazine clips and 93 live bullets, a hand grenade, a digital weighing scale and one bandolier. Senior Supt. Rufino Inot, Basilan provincial director, said the suspects are under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 9 facing charges. Mijares also confirmed the surrender of Abu Sayyaf members – Jamad Habil Habing, 22, and Jem Habil Habing, 20 – through the initiative of Gov. Jim Hataman and liaison officer Khaiser Hataman. Inot said the two Abu Sayyaf members surrendered to the police in Lagayas, in Tipo-Tipo Basilan along with their firearms and explosives. Mijares said the two surrendered after their sub-leader Parung Tedy died in an airstrike in Pololomot, Upper Mahataling, Sumisip in May.
